History of Forresters Beach
The area around Forresters Beach was originally inhabited by the Darkinjung Aboriginal people. Forresters Beach was first settled by Europeans who used the town as a base for fishing. The completion of the Sydney to Newcastle railway line in the 1880s led to an increase in tourists, retirees and day-trippers who established Forresters Beach as a popular resort and holiday destination.

Forresters Beach is one of a string of beautiful beaches lining the Central Coast that also includes Toowoon Bay, Blue Bay, Bateau Bay and Terrigal Beach. This stretch of coast contains rugged headlands, sandy beaches and idyllic swimming spots.
The lookout at Crackneck Point in the Wyrrabalong National Park offers a great whale watching area and the Coastal Walking Track that links the Wyrrabalong Lookout with the Blue Lagoon has great views and fantastic opportunities to spot whales as they migrate north. Wamberal Lagoon, which divides Forresters Beach from Terrigal is also a popular spot for families with excellent picnic spots and swimming areas.
