History of Scottsdale
Scottsdale was settled in the early 1800s and explored by Chinese gold miners who only found tin, the North East of Tasmania has a colourful history. Mining and agriculture, timber and fishing are the predominant industries to open up this rich growing area.
Landmark in Scottsdale
Mt William National Park in the far north east is home to the native Forester kangaroo, wombats and wallabies. Abundant birdlife and great camping areas.
Mt Stronach looks over the town of Scottsdale and the Forest eco centre, famous for its award wining architecture is on one end of town not to be missed. North East Park is a great childrens playground and free camping area. Platypus can be seen in the ponds.
