History of Wye River
The Great Ocean Road was constructed between 1919 and 1932 as a memorial to the soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War.
Stretching from Torquay to Warrnambool, the road covers some 234 kilometres and is considered one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world.
Landmark in Wye River
The Great Ocean Road contains some stunning landmarks. From the famous surfing paradise of Bells Beach in Torquay to the magnificence of the Twelve Apostles near Port Campbell, the scenery must be seen to be believed.

The road begins 55 minutes drive south of Melbourne in Geelong. Buses travel the length of the Great Ocean Road and Avalon Airport, near Geelong, is the closest airport.
