Sonjas Bed & Breakfast is comfortable home-style accommodation beside the opal fields, in the heart of Australia's black opal country.A choice of continental or hearty cooked breakfast, served each morning in the dining area.Or you may wish to self cater.

Evening meals are available by arrangement, and guests are welcome to use the barbeque and camp kitchen in Sonja's spacious back yard on the edge of the opal fields. Sonja's is within walking distance of Lightning Ridge's clubs, restaurants,and shopping.

The Miner's Suite has views out over the opal fields, and is decked out with a queen-sized timber bed, and a leather lounge to relax in.

Enjoy the warm and romantic atmosphere of the Sunset Unit, with a queen sized bed and a de'cor of gold, orange and violet, inspired by the Ridge's famous sunsets.

The Butterfly Suite, recalls the same celebrated black opal for which Butterfly Avenue was named. As well as a double-sized bed, the Butterfly Suite has two single beds.

There has to be an Opal Unit! Themed in vibrant blue and white,and features photograghs of some of the opal gemstones for which Lightning Ridge is famous. The Opal Unit has a double sized bed. Sonja's Bed & Breakfast is the perfect home base for a visit to the fascinating opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, on the edge of the outback in north western New South Wales.
