Beach House

It opens onto a small grass patio with a table and chairs all overlooking the beach. The property opens onto a spacious grassy reserve with no street in front so it is ideal for children. Smoking outside only and door to apartment must be firmly closed.

TRANSPORT TO MANLY, THE CITY AND DEE WHY
Monday to Fridays there is a convenient local bus that leaves in the early morning peak hours , it goes directly into Wynyard in the city and takes about 40 mins. The same bus returns to North Curl Curl in the afternoon peak period from about 4pm up till about 7pm.You can also catch a 136 to Manly which leaves every half hour from very early morning and up till about midnight. This bus is timed to meet the arrival and departure of every ferry. The ferry takes 30 minutes or 15 minutes by Jetcat to circular quay in the city. This same 136 bus also goes in the opposite direction to Dee Why (about 5 mins) this is where the closest supermarket, pharmacies, banks etc. are situated.

In the area there are beaches, parks, playgrounds, restaraunts and cafes, shopping and much more. Read below for some ideas.

North Curl Curl Beach is located 300 metres away, surrounded by cliffs and dunes. Clean waves make it a popular surfing spot. Even at the height of summer its long stretch of golden sand remain relatively uncrowded. During summer it has lifeguard patrolled swimming areas and an enclosed ocean pool.


South Curl Curl Beach has a casual cafe, swimming pool and flagged swimming area in summer.

Dee Why Beach, one kilometre away is another popular surfing spot. It extends up to Long Reef point where the wind flow is ideal for Para-surfing. There is also a family orientated park and picnic area.

Queenscliff or Freshwater Beach is close by and ideal for small children with its more sheltered water.

Manly Beach, is a well known tourist beach with plenty of activities and sheltered inlets.

DINING
There are many choices in the way of restaurants, cafes and take-aways, including local vegetarian. Within walking distance is Dee Why promenade with Italian, Modern Australian, Thai, Fish & Chips, and Japanese establishments all overlooking the beach. Manly is 10 minutes away by bus or car and boasts many excellent cosmopolitan restaurants.

WALKS
Curl Curl to Dee Why headland offers a not too strenuous half hour coastal walk boasting fabulous cliff and ocean views.
Around Manly there are a number of beautiful walks from the famous Scenic Walkway, to informal strolls along the ocean front promenade to Shelley Beach. Longer walks can be found around Sydney Harbour National Park all the way to the Spit Bridge. For more walks you can check out the Manly Tourism website.

PARKS
Directly across the road from the Beach House is a grassy reserve, ideal for a family game of cricket, ball throwing, or kite flying. It also has a children's playground with swings, seesaw and slippery dip.
Stoney Range Nature Reserve in Dee Why is a great picnic destination with BBQ facilities provided
Netball and football fields are just down the road.
Ku-ring-gai National Park is close by on the Northern beaches peninsular.
SHOPPING
Manly Corso - An open-air mall with numerous variety shops including clothing, home wares, food, banks, pubs and souvenirs. It also hosts a weekend arts and craft market.

Warringah Mall - A huge indoor shopping complex, with big department stores, fashion chains, specialty shops, food courts, movie theatres, banks and library.

Dee Why - The local shopping centre has Supermarkets, videos, bakery, restaurants, chemists, banks etc.

SPORT
Golf - 5 minutes drive to Warringah Public Golf Course or 15 minutes to Mona Vale Driving Range.
Para surfing - Equipment for hire locally. Windy Long Reef beach is the ideal location to experience this popular sport.
Surfing - Fabulous waves all year round to be enjoyed at any of 5 local beaches within 10 minutes drive. Surf shops offer lessons and all equipment to hire.
Fishing - There are many areas available for beach and rock fishing.
Lawn Bowling - Bowling green is 2 minutes walk away.
Squash - Courts for hire are located 5 minutes drive away.
Tennis - Courts available for hire 5 minutes drive away.
Netball - For fun and practice is just around the corner.
Cycling - There are cycle ways to take you in and around Manly. Or Manly Dam recreation area, where mountain bike riders can enjoy rough bush tracks. For more information go to: Manly Tourism
Sailing and Kayaking - Middle Harbour offers boat hire in a picturesque setting.
Scuba Diving - Shelley Beach and other inlets are popular diving spots. Lessons and equipment hire are locally available.
Swimming - Enclosed ocean pools can be found on either end of Manly or Curl Curl beach and on the Southern end of Dee Why beach. Chlorinated public pools can be found locally at the Harbour Diggers Club and in Manly

This home is very well set up for families. It has loads of games, toys and books for all the family. Little extras like boogie boards, sand tents, sand toys and beach towels make your holiday so much easier. We also provide cots and high chairs upon request at no extra cost.
