The property is architecturally designed to make the most of our wonderful tropical climate, easy going lifestyle and views of natural bushland.
Guests have a unique opportunity to unwind within close proximity to Darwin. Wagait Beach is an easy 128km drive from Darwin on fully sealed roads or just 15 minutes across the harbour if travelling by ferry. Pickups/transfers from the ferry are available on request.…
Wagait Beach Bush Retreat offers guests the perfect location to escape the humdrum of urban living. With peace and tranquillity in abundance it is easy to forget that the rest of the world exists when you are staying at Wagait Beach Bush Retreat!!!
To keep our wildlife safe, sorry no pets!
Wagait Beach is an unspoilt, quiet and friendly rural community - pop approx. 400. Situated on the northern beaches of Cox Peninsula near Mandorah, the Darwin skyline is clearly visible across Darwin Harbour.
The community is serviced by a two hourly ferry service from Darwin. Harbour crossings take approx. 15 minutes.
Located only 90 minutes(128km) from Darwin on fully sealed roads, driving is recommended so that you have a vehicle to visit the local sights.
Wagait Beach is a popular location for deep sea fishing. There is fantastic fishing from the wharf and beaches or launch your boat from either the Mandorah or Bynoe Harbour boat ramps if you prefer to fish the harbour, inlets and tidal creeks.
Fishing, bird-watching, exploring WW2 relics, beach-combing or just old fashioned relaxing are some of the activities available to you at Wagait Beach. Snooze in the hammock, watch the sun set from the deck overlooking the pool and bushland or cool off in the pool with a coldie before lighting the BBQ to cook your catch of the day. The local shop is nearby for those who prefer some-one else to do the cooking!!!
Take a drive and explore. See magnetic termite mounds, wetlands prolific with birdlife and a natural spring hidden in a tiny pocket of rainforest. You may spot a wild brumby or two. Explore a myriad of bush tracks that lead to unspoilt beaches and great fishing.
For WW2 buffs visit the wreckage of the 'Milady', a crashed US Liberator bomber, the remains of the submarine cable at West Point and the remnants of many WW2 gun turrets scattered along the coast.
Have a look at our Wagait Beach Bush Retreat Facebook page for more photos of Cox Peninsula scenery and wildlife.
The local shop stocks everything you will need during your stay including groceries, liquor, fuel, gas, ice, bait, fishing gear, expresso coffee, tasty takeaway food and has newspapers and fresh bread delivered daily.

We loved our holiday at Wagait Beach Retreat, we were looking for a really chilled out break from the city & that is exactly what we enjoyed. The pool & bush surrounds are peaceful & private & Wagai…
Waigait Beach Bush Retreat - was just that, the feeling was that you were out in the bush away from everyone & everything. The idea of going there was to relax after touring around, before going back…
Lovely place to take a complete break.

Availability calendar not up to date?
rentahome does encourage our property managers to update their availability calendars as often as possible.
Unfortunately it isn't always as frequent as we'd like, each calendar has a date of which the calendar was last updated so you who how up to date the listing is.
This is why rentahome has the quote process, it confirms the current availability of your selected property/s and the best rate available for your stay. -
Are visitors able to inspect properties?
rentahome welcomes inspections however they may not be always feasible and are generally only available for longer stays of three months or longer.
The property must first be quoted as available with a price for your requested dates.
To request an inspection simply login to your Quote at the below link using your quote number and surname: http://www.rent-a-home.com.au/home/my/quotedetails.aspx
Scroll down to your preferred property and under the photo there will be a button 'Request Inspection', click on 'Request Inspection' and fill in your details. Your details will be sent to the property manager who will make contact within 48hours to arrange an appointment.
If there is no 'Request Inspection' button, this means the property manager does not provide inspections.
Please note that properties are not held and may be booked by other visitors. -
