The 2010 Easter holidays run from the 10th to the 13th of April. With the days still warm across much of Australia, the Easter break is one of the nation's favourite times for getting away and enjoying a break.

Sydneysiders looking to escape the city can choose from a number of options. The Central Coast remains a favourite destination, with holiday towns such as Avoca Beach, Terrigal, Macmasters Beach and The Entrance all offering plenty of surf and sand. The Central Coast features an excellent range of holiday accommodation and is ideally located just a one hour drive from Sydney.

Further north, the beautiful Port Stephens region, home to holiday towns such as Nelson Bay, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest, attract holidaymakers and contain some of the state's best fishing, surfing, boating and swimming spots.

The four day Easter break also entices many visitors to the South Coast of New South Wales. Towns such as Huskisson, Batemans Bay, Batehaven and Narooma offer unspoilt beaches and pristine coastal scenery.

Brisbane residents looking to getaway also have a number of excellent options. The Gold Coast is within easy reach and is home to some of Australia's most famous beaches. The area also offers great shopping, exciting dining and nightlife precincts and family friendly theme parks.

To the north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast offers resort towns such as Noosa Heads, Maroochydore and Coolum Beach which are known for their stunning beaches, national parks and laidback atmosphere.

Melbourne is also blessed by being close to some of the best holiday spots in the country. The Great Ocean Road is one of the most famous drives in the world and is a must-visit for travellers. Popular holiday centres such as Torquay, Anglesea, Lorne and Apollo Bay make great stopovers along the way.

Melbourne residents can also enjoy an Easter break amidst the beauty of Phillip Island and the Mornington Peninsula.



The towns of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia remain popular getaway destinations for holidaymakers from Adelaide and feature beautiful towns set on the waters of the Spencer Gulf. To the south of Adelaide, Victor Harbor, Port Elliot and Goolwa also make great bases for an Easter break.

The coastline south of Perth is home to stunning holiday destinations such as Mandurah, Busselton, Margaret River and Albany. Known for their windswept beaches and world-class surfing breaks, the area also offers amazing national parks, gorgeous countryside and delightful wineries.
