Pathways traverse the rocky cliffs and offer spectacular views over the river and surrounding landscapes. 

Launceston is also close to the Tamar Valley, which is well known for its cool climate wineries and lush, green countryside. Tasmania's beautiful northern coastline is also within easy reach of Launceston and towns such as Devonport, Stanley and Burnie hold many delights for visitors and are well worth exploring.

Nearby Bridport is also situated on Tasmania's northern coastline and is best known for Barnbougle Dunes Golf Course. Consistently rated one of Australia's best golf courses, Barnbougle Dunes is a must for keen golfers, as it has one of the most spectacular layouts in the country.

Launceston Airport is serviced by flights from mainland capital cities by all the major carriers. Launceston is a two-hour drive north of Hobart via the Midland Highway.
