Boomerang Beach is one of small group unspoiled settlements collectively known as Pacific Palms. All of which feature holiday accommodations, spanning resorts, beach houses, cabins and camping. Boomerang Beach is a noted surfing beach and it is also a great place to take a swim. There are also plenty of beautiful headlands, lakes, rainforest pockets, coastal swamps, sand dunes, and lighthouses in the area to explore.
History of Boomerang Beach
The European history of the area started in 1816 when two ships were wrecked off Cape Hawke. The next visitor was John Oxley in 1818 who spent a night at Boomerang Beach but the first European settlers came in 1854 for the timber and the fishing and later the farming and tourism begin in the 1950s alongside the local sand-mining industry.

Boomerang beach is a noted surfing beach and at its northern end is Charlotte Head, a large rocky headland rising up out of the ocean. Boomerang Point overlooks Boomerang Beach with neighboring Blueys Beach located on the southern side of the headland. Boomerang Beach is located on the southern tip of Booti Booti National Park, a coastal reserve comprised of beaches, lookouts and rainforest. Nearby beachside communities include Seven Mile Beach, Elizabeth Beach, Sandbar and Seal Rocks.

For everyday goods, there are shops at Boomerang Beach as well as at Blueys Beach, Macwood Road and Smiths Lake.
For larger shopping centres Forster-Tuncurry is 20 minutes away. A market is held on the last Sunday of each month at the Pacific Palms Community Centre.
